A Woman in Her 50s in Contact with an Acquaintance from Seoul Tests Positive for COVID-19... Jeonbuk's 67th Confirmed Case
Health Authorities Emphasize "Reducing Contacts Is the Only Way to Prevent Spread"

View original image[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hong Jae-hee] A woman in her 50s in the Jeonbuk region, who had met with a confirmed COVID-19 patient from Seoul, has been diagnosed as a COVID-19 positive case, causing health authorities to be on high alert.
According to Jeonbuk health authorities on the 22nd, Ms. A (female, in her 50s), who was confirmed as the 67th positive case in the province the previous day, is believed to have contracted the virus through contact with a confirmed patient from Seoul. Investigations revealed that she met or visited acquaintances living in Jeonju, Buan, Gimje, and Iksan within the province.
In response, health authorities emphasized, "This weekend is a critical turning point for the spread of COVID-19," and stressed, "Reducing contact with others is the only way to prevent further spread."
Ms. A, who resides in Wansan-gu, Jeonju, traveled by car to Suncheon Station on the 15th, where she met two friends living in Seoul around 8 p.m. and stayed overnight locally.
The next day, on the 16th, around 10 a.m., she visited the Suncheon Bay Hap'o to Masan mudflats, stopped by a coffee shop between 11 a.m. and noon, and arrived in Jeonju around 2 p.m.
Afterwards, she had a meal at a restaurant near Ajung Reservoir between 5 p.m. and 5:40 p.m., then walked around Ajung Reservoir until about 8:30 p.m. On the following day, the 17th, she took the KTX train from Jeonju Station with two friends, boarding the train from Yongsan and disembarking at Gwangmyeong Station.
Among the friends Ms. A met, a couple living in Yangcheon-gu, Seoul, were confirmed COVID-19 positive on the 20th and 21st.
On the 18th, between 1 p.m. and 2 p.m., Ms. A visited an acquaintance's house in Palbok-dong, then together they visited Buan between 2 p.m. and 4:20 p.m., and moved to Gimje between 4:20 p.m. and 5 p.m. to meet with a company president.
Additionally, on the 19th around 2 p.m., she went to Iksan with an acquaintance and visited an office in the Iksan traditional market around 6:30 p.m.
On the 21st, Ms. A visited the Deokjin screening clinic at 2 p.m. for specimen collection and was confirmed positive for COVID-19 around 10:30 p.m. She is currently hospitalized in an isolation ward at Gunsan Medical Center receiving treatment.

Health authorities have reviewed CCTV footage from her home and visited locations, conducted disinfection, and are currently identifying additional movement paths and contacts.
