On the 20th, the Jecheon Police Station in Chungbuk announced that they have secured and are investigating the whereabouts of Pastor A, in his 60s, who is suspected of refusing to provide the list of attendees at the Gwanghwamun rally and going into hiding since the 15th.
The police stated that after receiving a complaint from Jecheon City, they identified Pastor A's location through inquiries and other means.
However, the police said, "It is difficult to disclose the details of the investigation as the investigation is ongoing."
According to Jecheon City, Pastor A gathered about 50 citizens and attended the Liberation Day rally in Gwanghwamun, Seoul, on the 15th.
Jecheon City requested the submission of the list of rally attendees, but Pastor A refused and turned off his mobile phone and went into hiding starting from the 18th.
The city reported Pastor A to the police on suspicion of violating the Infectious Disease Prevention and Control Act for deliberately avoiding contact and not providing information necessary for epidemiological investigation.
So far, the city has identified 45 attendees of the Gwanghwamun rally and had them undergo testing for the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
