Yeongdeungpo-gu to Host Midsummer Night Youth Concert 'Kontari Shabara'
Online Concert for Youth Performing and Viewing on the 28th... Five Teams Perform Various Genres Including Jazz and Fusion Gugak Band at Mujungryeokjidae-Yeongdeungpo
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Yeongdeungpo-gu (Mayor Chae Hyun-il) will hold an online non-face-to-face concert "Konttari Shabara," offering sweet and calm emotions like honey on a midsummer night, on the 28th at 7:30 PM.
The event was planned to revitalize artists who are going through economically and psychologically difficult times due to the prolonged social distancing and young people whose minds and bodies are exhausted from not being able to properly enjoy cultural life.
Since the concert is a performance prepared to give young people an unforgettable time, it will be held at "Mujungryeokjidae-Yeongdeungpo," a youth communication and cultural space opened in September last year.
The live performance will also be broadcast in a non-face-to-face manner using the online video program Zoom, allowing safe and comfortable viewing without worries about COVID-19.
The performers of "Konttari Shabara" are carefully selected musicians who provide gentle resonance and emotion, considering the sensibilities and tastes of the youth. The lineup includes: ▲ the female duo "H.M.H," who show warm emotions with clear voices, ▲ jazz singer-songwriter "Lee Hoon-joo," who has a lively charm, ▲ fusion gugak band "Gugak In Gayo," presenting popular traditional Korean music, ▲ acoustic mixed duo "Seong Hae-bin & Eun-hee," who give subtle emotion and deep aftertaste, and ▲ the musician group "The Cheat Trap," with an unusual combination of vocals, bass, and percussion. A total of five teams will perform live for about two hours.
Youth aged 19 to 34 who wish to watch the performance can apply through the Mini Intern website by the 23rd. Fifty selected applicants will be individually notified of the performance viewing link. The concert is free of charge.
Additionally, to enable real-time communication between the audience and musicians and to enjoy a more exciting performance, kits containing cheering tools and refreshments will be sent to the 50 pre-registered applicants.
For more details, inquiries can be made by phone or email (ydp@youthzone.kr) to Mujungryeokjidae-Yeongdeungpo.
Mujungryeokjidae-Yeongdeungpo, a youth space created by remodeling the old Dangsan 2-dong Community Center, has been operating all schedules online since the first half of this year. In the first half, various programs such as the reading club "Reading Books Anywhere" with a novelist, one-person creator training "I am also a Creator," and coffee classes "I Like Coffee Today Too" conducted by young baristas were held non-face-to-face. In the second half, it plans to actively support youth activities and networking and continue to operate as a dedicated space for youth learning, communication, and rest.
