The Korean Economic Education Society to Hold Online Summer Academic Conference on the 20th
[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Chaeseok] The Korean Economic Education Association announced on the 19th that it will hold an online summer academic conference on the 20th under the theme "How to Change the Economic Education Curriculum."
Marking its 27th anniversary this year, the Korean Economic Education Association plans to conduct the event with plenary sessions, academic presentations, and discussions.
The event was originally scheduled to take place at the 70th Anniversary Hall of Suncheon National University, but due to the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), it will be held online.
In the morning plenary session, moderated by Professor Kim Kyungmo of Gyeongsang National University (Vice President), discussions will be held on curriculum proposals in various fields such as economic life, economics and civic life, basic economics, and financial economics.
In the afternoon academic presentations, the event will be divided into the 1st and 2nd sections to present research results on economic education.
In the 1st section, Lee Yoonwoo, a researcher at the Korea Development Institute (KDI), will present on the topic "How Much Do Teachers Know About Financial Products in Economics Textbooks?"
Following this, Professor Kim Sanggyu of Daegu National University of Education will present on "Economic Educational Implications of Laozi's Thought," and researchers Han Dongik and Lee Yoonwoo (KDI) will present on "Economic Education Methods Utilizing Exhibition Facilities and Owned Content."
In the 2nd section, Park Hana, a researcher at the Korea Youth Policy Institute, will present on "Blended PBL Economic Classes Using Online Programs."
Next, Professor Kim Bongryul of Dongguk University will present on "Currency and Financial Education as Liberal Arts Education," and Professors Cho Sungil and Cha Hyekyung will present on "Comparison of Learning Outcomes Between Face-to-Face and Online Lectures."
During the roundtable discussion, there will be a debate on "The Current Status and Development Direction of Lifelong Economic Education in Korea."
