Donation of 108 Million Won in Cash and Goods
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Nosik] The Jaegyeong Namwon Hometown Association has stepped up to help flood victims who lost their homes due to heavy rains by donating money and goods to support their hometown.
On the 19th, the city announced that over 1,000 members, including Chairman Lee Gwang-yeon of the Jaegyeong Namwon Hometown Association, who contribute to the development of their hometown to make Namwon, Jeonbuk, a prosperous place, visited Namwon.
They raised a total of 100.8 million won in donations and goods for the hometown flood victims, designating 17.65 million won to Geumji-myeon, 4.1 million won to Jusaeng-myeon, and 3 million won to Daegang-myeon. The remaining 63 million won and goods worth about 13 million won, including rice and eggs, will be donated to Namwon City.
The hometown members said, "We heard the news about the heavy rain damage to our hometown and were worried, so we gathered our intentions little by little to help even a little." They added, "We brought donations and goods together to directly help the areas severely affected."
Chairman Lee Gwang-yeon also said, "Although I have left my hometown for now, the memories of Namwon, where I spent my childhood, always remain in my mind, and I have never forgotten my hometown." He added, "I hope the donated money and goods will provide some strength to the flood victims who lost their homes."
