Kia Motors Signs MOU to Support Eco-Friendly LPG Truck Drivers
[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] Kia Motors is collaborating with SK Gas, the National Freight Truck Transportation Business Association, and the Korea LP Gas Sales Association Central Committee to support small business owners in South Korea.
Kia Motors announced on the 19th that it signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to promote the joint support campaign "Bongo Appa, Cheer Up" at the Seoul Transportation Hall in Songpa-gu, Seoul. Key attendees included Lee Han-eung, Head of Kia Motors Sales Division; Park Chan-il, Head of SK Gas Eco Energy Division; Kim Im-yong, Chairman of the Korea LP Gas Sales Association Central Committee; and Jeon Woon-jin, Chairman of the National Freight Truck Transportation Business Association.
This MOU aims to assist small business owners and self-employed individuals facing economic difficulties due to COVID-19 and to expand the adoption of eco-friendly LPG trucks.
Specifically, the parties to the agreement will operate three benefit programs: ▲ "Safety Support," providing safety kits consisting of masks, hand sanitizers, and safe driving stickers to all Bongo LPG truck owners; ▲ "Fuel Cost Support," offering points usable at SK Gas charging stations on a first-come, first-served basis to Bongo LPG truck owners; and ▲ "Happiness Support," which provides free vehicles through a review process for submitted stories explaining the need for a Bongo LPG truck, along with additional services such as vehicle wrapping and startup tax consultation.
The "Bongo Appa, Cheer Up" joint support promotion will run for three months from November 1 to November 30.
A Kia Motors official stated, "We jointly planned the Bongo LPG truck support project, which combines eco-friendliness and economic efficiency, to support small business owners struggling due to COVID-19. Kia Motors will continue to contribute in various ways to social responsibility and the expansion of eco-friendly vehicles."
