Jongno-gu Holds Emergency Meeting Following Social Distancing Level 2 Upgrade
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Jongno-gu (District Mayor Kim Young-jong) held an emergency meeting of the Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters on the 18th at the district office's Planning Situation Room to discuss measures to prevent community spread following the elevation of social distancing to Level 2 in the Seoul and Gyeonggi areas.
The district has been proactively responding to COVID-19 by conducting on-site inspections to ensure compliance with quarantine rules at high-risk facilities, strengthening quarantine measures, and issuing assembly restriction notices on major roads within the area.
Located in the city center where numerous assemblies take place and with a high density of multi-use buildings as well as a large floating population, the district is doing its utmost in epidemiological investigations and quarantine efforts.
Going forward, the district plans to mobilize all administrative resources to prevent additional infections and community spread through proactive testing of contacts and visitors.
