Operation of 'Humanities on the Road' Lecture in Buk-gu, Gwangju
Selected by the Ministry of Culture... at Ilgok and Unam Libraries
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Buk-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Moon In) announced on the 18th that it has been selected in a contest hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and will operate the ‘2020 Humanities on the Road’ lecture series from next month until November.
This lecture series was prepared to promote the reading culture of local residents and to enhance their humanities literacy.
First, at Unam Library, under the theme of ‘Environmental Humanities for a Sustainable Future,’ there will be sessions with expert instructors to discuss concerns and countermeasures regarding issues such as environmental problems and the pandemic.
The lectures will be held a total of 10 times from the 8th of next month until November 3, covering topics such as ▲Diversity of Wetland Organisms and Water Circulation in the City of Gwangju ▲Stories of Sustainable Food ▲A Close Look at the Climate Crisis.
At Ilgok Library as well, Professor Yoo Usang from the Department of Architecture at Chonnam National University will participate as an instructor until October, conducting lectures and exploration programs under the theme ‘Public Art Embedded in the Daily Lives of Local Residents, Gwangju Polly,’ including ▲City and Public Art ▲Gwangju’s Cultural Stimulus Polly ▲Public Art and Gwangju’s Cultural Landscape ▲Exploration of Gwangju Polly.
