Damyang-gun Provides Free 'Eco-friendly Microorganisms' to Livestock Damage Farms
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Damyang-gun, Jeonnam (Governor Choi Hyung-sik) announced on the 18th that it will provide 'eco-friendly microorganisms' free of charge to livestock farms damaged by flooding due to recent heavy rains, which help remove odors and enhance livestock immunity.
Flooded livestock barns generate harmful gases due to high humidity and pose a risk of waterborne disease transmission. The county decided to supply photosynthetic bacteria to reduce odors and Bacillus subtilis to help enhance livestock immunity free of charge to farms affected by the heavy rain.
The Agricultural Technology Center began culturing on the 10th, secured 2.5 tons of the microorganisms, and started supplying them to farms on this day.
The supply period will continue until the flooding damage to livestock barns stabilizes, and affected livestock farmers can receive eco-friendly microorganisms at the Agricultural Technology Center's eco-friendly microorganism culturing room.
The supply amount is 20 liters per week based on barn area: 50 heads for Korean cattle, 1,000 pigs, and 10,000 poultry.
The county supplies high-concentration eco-friendly microorganisms in 2-liter vinyl packaging to make it convenient for farmers to use.
