KT Unveils AI Energy Management Service Optimized for Unmanned Stores
[Asia Economy Reporter Koo Chae-eun] KT announced on the 18th that it has launched the store management-type energy optimization product ‘Giga Energy Manager Franchise Plus’ and will supply it to unmanned stores.
KT Giga Energy Manager Franchise Plus optimizes the store's electricity consumption method and measures the internal environment of the store to provide notification services to the store owners. The reason energy consumption can be optimized is that KT’s AI-based big data analysis engine ‘e-brain’ learns and analyzes the store’s energy consumption data. As data accumulates, patterns become more refined, enabling optimized energy management.
The venture company ‘Phasecommu,’ which developed an Internet of Things (IoT) vending machine, was operating an automatic side dish vending machine at an unmanned store called ‘Itdagage’ in line with the non-face-to-face consumption trend caused by the spread of COVID-19. Due to the nature of the product, maintaining freshness is important, so they decided to introduce the ‘KT Giga Energy Manager Franchise Plus’ product to carefully manage the temperature inside the refrigerated vending machine.
When the service is introduced, information sent from the temperature sensor inside the vending machine is stored on the KT cloud server, and temperature change history is provided according to environmental changes. By learning environmental information that causes product deterioration, it not only alerts the store owner of any abnormalities in the vending machine but also suggests the optimal operating state. Additionally, by measuring the store’s electricity usage, it can automatically control electrical devices such as lighting and air conditioning to operate at the most efficient times, enabling cost savings.
