[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] Hyundai Department Store announced on the 17th that it will open the Italian luxury furniture brand 'Poliform' for the first time in the department store industry on the 4th floor luxury living hall of the Trade Center branch on the 21st.
Poliform, first introduced in 1942 in the Brianza region of northern Italy, is known as a representative Italian furniture brand. In particular, it is called 'furniture loved by architects' as it has continuously introduced innovative products through collaborations with world-renowned architects such as Italian architect Piero Lissoni and French architect Jean-Marie Massaud. Currently, it operates over 800 stores in 76 countries worldwide, including the United States, the United Kingdom, and Japan. In Korea, it operates one store in Nonhyeon-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul.
The Poliform store opening at the Trade Center branch this time will be 105㎡ (approximately 32 pyeong) in size, and the store plans to sell more than 30 types of furniture products such as tables, dining tables, and sofas. In addition, a 'system furniture' line that customers can choose according to their preferences will also be introduced. Representative products include the 'Phoenix Kitchen' (around 290 million KRW), 'Senzafine System Wardrobe' (around 53 million KRW), 'Wall System Living Room Shelf' (around 55 million KRW), and 'Mondrian Sofa' (around 52 million KRW).
With Poliform's entry, Hyundai Department Store Trade Center branch has established a lineup of the highest level luxury living brands in Korea. Previously, the Trade Center branch introduced the first domestic stores of world-class living brands such as Italy's 'Cassina,' France's 'Ligne Roset,' and the Netherlands' 'Moooi.'

Hyundai Department Store Trade Center branch is actively attracting luxury living brands because there are many young VIP customers in their 30s and 40s who are highly interested in living. In the first half of this year, customers in their 30s and 40s accounted for 45.0% of the total VIP sales at the Trade Center branch, higher than the average of 39.1% across Hyundai Department Store's 15 branches. In particular, the proportion of living sales in their total sales was 39.7%, significantly higher than the 27.1% living sales proportion of VIPs in other age groups.
