Seoul City announced that from midnight to 6 p.m. on the 16th, a total of 66 new COVID-19 cases were identified over 18 hours. Accordingly, the cumulative number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Seoul has increased to 2,053.
Among the newly identified 66 cases, 43 are related to Seongbuk-gu Sarang Jeil Church, 4 to Yongin-si Uri Jeil Church, and 3 to Yangcheon-gu Doesaegim Church.
There was 1 case from overseas contact, 1 related to a nursing hospital in Gwanak-gu, 1 contact with confirmed cases from other cities/provinces, 10 categorized as others, and 3 cases with routes under investigation.
The number of confirmed cases related to Seongbuk-gu Sarang Jeil Church in Seoul alone was counted as 194 as of 6 p.m. that day. As of noon that day, the nationwide cumulative number of confirmed cases related to this church was 249.
