View original imageAccording to the Nihon Keizai Shimbun on the 16th, 1,223 new confirmed cases were reported in Japan as of 10 PM the previous day. The cumulative number of confirmed cases reached 55,833.
In Japan, the number of daily new cases remained in the 1,000 range for six consecutive days from the 4th to the 9th, then dropped below 1,000 from the 10th to the 12th. However, since the 13th, the daily new confirmed cases have again been recorded at over 1,000.
With 7 additional deaths, the total number of fatalities has reached 1,106.
