2020 Suwon Ballet Festival Opens on the 16th... Main Performance Held Both Online and Offline Simultaneously
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Byung-hee] The 2020 Suwon Ballet Festival will be held from the 16th to the 20th at Suwon SK Artrium. Considering the COVID-19 situation, the main events have been scaled down compared to previous years, and the three main performances from the 18th to the 20th will be broadcast live online via Naver TV and VLIVE alongside offline performances.
The Suwon Ballet Festival is celebrating its 6th year this year, hosted by Suwon City and organized by the Ballet STP Cooperative and the Suwon Ballet Festival Organizing Committee. This year's performances will feature six domestic private ballet companies including Universal Ballet, Seoul Ballet Theater, Lee Won-guk Ballet Company, SEO Ballet Company, Wise Ballet Theater, and Kim Ok-ryun Ballet Company, with the special participation of Gwangju City Ballet Company.
Starting with the Crosswalk Dance on the 16th, the main performances 'Night of Classics,' 'Ballet The Masterpiece,' and 'Ballet Gala Special' will follow from the 18th to the 20th. The heads of each ballet company will provide explanations about the works and various stories about ballet to help the audience better understand.
Additionally, to allow everyone to easily experience and appreciate ballet, a 'Ballet Experience Class' for all ages will be held from the 17th to the 20th. Other events include the 'Moving Ballet Sculpture Exhibition,' which offers a comprehensive view of the history of ballet development, an online challenge to learn and enjoy the healthy ballet exercise 'Ballon,' and an exhibition of signed toe shoes (ballet shoes) by famous domestic ballerinas.
