Kim Kang-lip "Russian Vaccine Must Prove Safety for Domestic Introduction"
[Asia Economy Reporter Cho Hyun-ui] On the 12th, the government stated that since information regarding the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) vaccine, which the Russian government announced as the world's first registered vaccine, is limited, basic data such as safety must be secured to decide on its domestic introduction.
Kim Kang-lip, the 1st Chief Coordinator of the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters (CDSCH), said at a briefing held at the Government Sejong Complex on the same day, "Basic data on the safety of the Russian vaccine must be secured to make a judgment on its domestic introduction and vaccination."
Chief Coordinator Kim added, "Currently, we have only obtained information on this part," and said, "We will review and discuss response measures together with the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency and the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety."
