Jangseong-gun, Rapid Disposal of 'Flood Debris' Caused by Heavy Rain
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jo Hangyu] Jangseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 11th that from the 10th to the 21st, it has designated a "Special Period for Intensive Collection and Disposal of Flood Damage Waste" and is deploying various equipment and personnel such as collection vehicles, grapplers, and excavators to promptly handle flood damage waste.
The county has designated waste collection sites and open spaces in each eup and myeon as temporary transfer stations to facilitate easy disposal of flood damage waste. Additionally, to ensure rapid collection, flood damage waste will be collected and processed in full without requiring separate sorting during this temporary period.
Furthermore, to handle soil and sand washed onto roads within the jurisdiction due to heavy rain, street cleaning vehicles are operated for six hours daily to minimize airborne dust.
The work will proceed sequentially, starting from areas with heavy vehicle traffic and urgent needs such as Jangseong entrances and exits, major tourist sites, and eup and myeon downtown areas.
