This has disrupted maritime traffic operations and caused marine pollution, prompting the Coast Guard and related agencies to respond swiftly.
According to the Mokpo Coast Guard Station (Chief Jung Young-jin) on the 11th, approximately 37 tons of floating debris such as water plants, PET bottles, and Styrofoam, carried by the recent heavy rain into Mokpo Port on the 10th, were collected and handed over to the Korea Marine Environment Management Corporation.
