At the meeting chaired by Gijang-gun Governor Oh Gyu-seok, discussions were held on pre-inspection and preventive measures for vulnerable areas in each town and township to minimize damage from strong winds and heavy rain caused by the typhoon.
Governor Oh instructed, “Immediately remove the traffic cones widely used along roadsides, construction sites, coastal areas, and walking trails.”
He also ordered, “Remove all hazardous facilities that could be blown away by strong winds and cause secondary accidents to ensure residents' safety.”
Gijang-gun is closely monitoring the typhoon situation and will make swift and accurate decisions according to the manual. When the typhoon approaches, disaster broadcasts and emergency texts will be used to relay hourly updates to residents.
Immediate measures will also be taken for vulnerable facilities that have not been restored due to previous heavy rains.
Busan Urban Corporation was ordered to promptly repair a manhole cover that is not fixed at the Ilgwang New Town intersection, a point of concern for safety accidents.
Additionally, related agencies and companies were requested to quickly maintain overall issues such as the lack of safety facilities near Haeundae CC in Byeongsan-ri, Jeonggwan-eup, damaged sidewalk blocks, road erosion, and unmaintained street trees.
