Ministry of Education Takes Steps to Prevent Career Disruption for Vocational High School Graduates During Military Service
Collaboration with the Military Manpower Administration on Customized Employment Skills Names and More
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunju Lee] To alleviate career interruptions caused by military service among vocational high school students, a special military service system linked to employment will be implemented.
On the 10th, the Ministry of Education announced that it signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Military Manpower Administration and the Central Employment Support Center to promote the 'Pilot Operation Program for Nurturing High School Graduate Youth Talent.'
The Ministry of Education will support the Military Career Design Center to be utilized as a career experience education institution and cooperate in nurturing talent suitable for customized special military service and supporting employment. The customized special military service system allows conscripts with a high school diploma or below to receive technical training suited to their aptitude before enlistment and serve as technical soldiers in related fields during their military service. Following the opening of the center in the metropolitan area last month, the Military Career Design Center will be gradually expanded to the Yeongnam region and the Honam and Chungcheong regions.
