Statistics Korea Holds the '2020 Statistical Data Analysis and Utilization Competition'
[Asia Economy Reporter Kwangho Lee] The Statistics Korea announced that it will hold the '2020 Statistical Data Analysis and Utilization Competition' for the general public from the 10th to September 29th to expand the use of data, a core task of the Digital New Deal.
Held for the second time following last year, this competition provides a wide range of high-quality data on various topics such as population, employment, welfare, and businesses owned by Statistics Korea. As the amount of analysis data has expanded, it is expected that diverse analysis results and proposal tasks utilizing these data will be presented.
Additionally, to respond to the COVID-19 environment, this competition has introduced an untact (Untact) method, allowing online analysis in addition to on-site analysis at the Statistical Data Center, thereby enhancing users' data accessibility and convenience.
Anyone in the nation who wishes to participate in the 2020 Statistical Data Analysis and Utilization Competition can apply individually or as a team (up to 3 members).
Participants should propose in-depth analyses of economic and social phenomena, policy directions, or startup ideas using at least one type of data provided by Statistics Korea. Submissions can be made either as a report or a poster.
The evaluation will be conducted as a citizen participation type, gathering opinions from experts in various fields and the public in the spirit of proactive administration and government innovation. Excellent works (Grand Prize, Excellence, Encouragement) will be awarded the Commissioner of Statistics Korea Award (7 prizes) and prize money.
