Songpa-gu Youth Living Lab Participant Teams Supported with Up to 5 Million KRW
Providing opportunities for youth as policy agents to explore, improve, and propose solutions for community issues... Youth teams aged 18-39 can apply by visiting Songpa District Office or via email until August 28
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Songpa-gu (Mayor Park Seong-su) is recruiting youth teams to participate in the '2020 Songpa-gu Youth Living Lab' until the 28th to provide young people with opportunities to engage with and participate in the local community.
The 'Youth Living Lab' is a project where the entire Songpa-gu village becomes a 'laboratory,' with young residents taking the lead to explore village issues and solve problems through collaboration among various youth governance groups.
The district explained that through the Youth Living Lab activities, which discover local community issues from a fresh youth perspective and seek solutions, they aim to encourage young people's interest in the community and provide opportunities for policy participation.
Applicants must be youth teams composed of members aged between 19 and 39, with a minimum of three members including a representative, and more than half of the members must be youth residents of Songpa-gu.
The recruitment period is from August 10 to 28, with interviews conducted in a presentation format on September 4 at 2 PM. At least seven teams will be selected through a comprehensive evaluation of document screening, interviews, and additional scoring factors.
The research topics include ▲ three designated themes (① Creating youth jobs in the era of COVID-19 ② Youth rights and responsibilities created together with youth ③ Methods to revitalize village-based youth governance) ▲ and a free theme (not limited to youth issues but addressing various local community problems). Teams will propose ideas to solve these issues and develop improvement plans.
The district expects that the Living Lab activities, which will capture innovative ideas from youth regarding community issues, will enhance the quality of life in Songpa-gu.
For the final selected teams, capacity-building training will be held on September 7, and during the activity period from September 8 to November 13, each team will receive up to 5 million KRW in administrative and financial support.
Youth wishing to participate can submit their application forms and project plans by visiting Songpa-gu Office or emailing skando@songpa.go.kr by August 28.
