Gangbuk-gu Creates a Platform for Communication and Harmony Between Young People with Disabilities and Non-Disabled Youth
September 5, 2-4 PM Online Live Broadcast 'Lecture by Rehabilitation Engineer Professor Kim Jong-bae'... Stories Reflecting Youth Lives Accepted Until September 2
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gangbuk-gu (Mayor Park Kyum-soo) will hold a non-face-to-face ‘DungDung Project’ talk concert together with the ‘Gangbuk Youth Policy Network.’
The ‘DungDung Project’ was created with the purpose of providing a space for communication and harmony between young people with disabilities and those without disabilities.
The meaning of ‘DungDung’ is an abbreviation of “round and round,” implying that all young people with infinite possibilities and potential join hands and form a circle. This is also why the event carries the subtitle “Finding Hidden Gems and Moving Forward Together.”
This concert will be held online (YouTube channel) on September 5th from 2 to 4 p.m. The host, a network member, will introduce stories submitted in advance, and young people will openly discuss the topics in the chat room. The event will focus on cases where young people with disabilities have experienced discrimination and unfairness while living in the local community.
Through this, the event aims to broaden awareness and understanding of disabilities and hold discussions on necessary systems and policies.
The district has invited a professional lecturer to facilitate the online public discussion process and lead policy discussions. The lecturer is Professor Kim Jong-bae, a rehabilitation engineer who empathizes deeply with the position of people with disabilities and offers warm encouragement and comfort. There are also plans to conduct lectures that serve as a support for young people with disabilities to live as independent agents. The district plans to actively reflect the vivid voices of young people in policies after reviewing feasibility and other factors.
Those wishing to submit stories can fill out an application form on the online survey platform (Naver Form) and submit it by September 2nd.
