Hyundai Motor Group Donates 2 Billion KRW for Heavy Rain Damage Relief Fund
[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] Hyundai Motor Group is launching emergency relief efforts along with a donation of 2 billion KRW to support recovery from damage caused by recent heavy rains and to assist disaster victims.
On the 9th, Hyundai Motor Group announced that it will deliver 2 billion KRW in donations to the Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association to ensure swift nationwide recovery and support for residents in flood-affected areas. The donation is scheduled to be delivered on the 10th.
In addition to the donation, Hyundai Motor is providing free inspection and maintenance services for vehicles in the affected areas, while employees have formed an emergency support team to carry out relief activities such as supplying daily necessities and laundry services.
Since last month, Hyundai Motor and Kia Motors have been visiting flood sites directly to conduct free inspections of major parts including engines and transmissions on submerged and flood-damaged vehicles.
Vehicles that are difficult to service on-site can be brought to nationwide direct service centers or Blue Hands (Hyundai) and Auto Q (Kia) for repairs, with repair costs discounted by up to 50%, minimizing the burden on residents in the affected areas. Furthermore, Hyundai Motor supports 50% of rental car costs for up to 10 days when flood-damaged vehicles are brought in for repair and a rental car is rented, while Kia Motors provides free rental cars for up to 5 days when flood-damaged vehicles are scrapped and a Kia vehicle is repurchased.
At the end of last month, Hyundai Motor employees formed an emergency support team to provide basic daily necessities such as bottled water and ramen to disaster victims in flood-affected areas, and deployed two laundry relief vehicles to offer laundry services for clothing and bedding contaminated by the floods.
The deployed laundry relief vehicles are equipped with three 18kg washing machines, three 23kg dryers, and one generator, completing washing and drying within 90 minutes, enabling the processing of approximately 1,000 kg of laundry per day.
