[Asia Economy Reporter Ryu Jeong-min] President Moon Jae-in has declared seven areas, including Gyeonggi-do, Chungcheong-do, and Gangwon-do, as special disaster zones.
Yoon Jae-kwan, Deputy Spokesperson of the Blue House, announced at a briefing at the Chuncheon Press Center on the 7th that special disaster zones have been declared for seven areas affected by heavy rain in the central region. The areas designated as special disaster zones are Anseong-si in Gyeonggi-do, Cheorwon-gun in Gangwon-do, Chungju-si and Jecheon-si, Eumseong-gun in Chungbuk, and Cheonan-si and Asan-si in Chungnam.
Earlier, on the 4th, President Moon presided over an 'Emergency Situation Inspection Meeting on Heavy Rain Response' at the Blue House and instructed, "In addition to damage surveys by local governments, central government ministries should promptly take joint damage survey measures so that special disaster zones can be declared quickly."
