BBQ Opens 'Grab and Go' Specialty Store at Giheung Rest Area
[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Saeng-hye] Genesis BBQ announced on the 6th that it has opened a specialized store applying the 'Grab and Go' system at the Gyeongbu Expressway Giheung Rest Area (Busan direction).
The BBQ Giheung Rest Area branch is a premium caf?-style store with an area of approximately 142㎡ (43 pyeong), featuring a total of 66 seats. Considering the characteristics of rest area users, it is equipped with an American-style Grab and Go system where customers can immediately eat or take away pre-cooked food.
Unlike the traditional takeout that requires waiting until the product is cooked, Grab and Go has pre-cooked products displayed on shelves, allowing customers to purchase their desired menu items immediately and eat them anywhere. This is a major advantage and is perfect for rest area users who have short stay times. BBQ introduced this sales method at its Manhattan store in the U.S. and achieved great success. It was first officially introduced domestically through the Yongsan I'Park Mall branch in April this year.
In addition to chicken, the BBQ Giheung Rest Area branch offers over 90 BBQ menu items including salads, sandwiches, cupbap, and so-tteok so-tteok all in one place. Through this, it is expected to meet the diverse needs of family travelers heading out for vacations or weekend trips. Furthermore, the BBQ Giheung Rest Area branch offers dine-in, takeout, and delivery services to nearby residential areas.
