Providing Comprehensive Services Including Car Wash and Light Maintenance Following Job Creation for the Hearing Impaired
[Asia Economy Reporter Yoonju Hwang] SK Energy is further expanding its support for ‘Goyohan Mobility.’ The goal is to increase job opportunities for the hearing impaired, create social value by maintaining these jobs stably, and ultimately establish a social safety net.
‘Goyohan Taxi’ is a service launched in June last year by the social enterprise Co-Actors to promote social participation of the hearing impaired. SK Energy and SK Telecom signed a business agreement with Co-Actors in March last year and have been cooperating to revitalize the service.
Goyohan Mobility is recognized as a model case of creating social value by expanding employment opportunities for the hearing impaired through SK Energy’s charging infrastructure and vehicle-related services combined with SK Telecom’s advanced technology support.
So far, SK Energy has provided incentives for employing the hearing impaired. Recently, with government policy support, on the 1st of this month, the existing ‘Goyohan Taxi’ was renamed ‘Goyohan Mobility’ and expanded its business scope, leading to an increase in support.
Under this policy support, Goyohan Mobility plans to expand to 100 taxis in the Seoul area by 2021 and differentiate the taxi exteriors and services. It also plans to further increase the employment rate of the hearing impaired. Currently, Goyohan Mobility operates 10 vehicles and employs 16 hearing-impaired individuals.
To support the operation of the ‘Goyohan Mobility’ business, SK Energy has decided to provide a certain amount of fuel cost support when using SK Energy charging stations, and from August, it started LPG charging services through the SK Jinyang Gas Charging Station located in Gangnam-gu, Seoul.
Additionally, comprehensive services related to service operations such as car wash services, light maintenance services, and driver lounges within the charging stations will be provided to help the growth of the ‘Goyohan Mobility’ business.
