Gimcheon City Wins Excellence Award at 'Agricultural Specialty Products Competition' for Overcoming COVID-19
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Dong-wook] Gimcheon City announced on the 5th that it received the Excellence Award in the 'COVID-19 Overcome - Agricultural Specialty Products Complete Sales Competition Excellent City/County Evaluation' hosted by Gyeongbuk Province.
This competition was organized by Gyeongbuk Province targeting 23 cities and counties within the province to encourage the expansion of sales channels for agricultural products suffering from sluggish sales due to the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19). The evaluation criteria included online and offline sales amounts, special policies by city/county, and participation in Gyeongbuk Province's own complete sales events.
Gimcheon City was highly recognized for its achievement of selling over 100 million KRW worth of agricultural products within a month by vigorously promoting the 'Good Consumption Movement for Agricultural Product Packages' both online and offline last April, when COVID-19 was at its peak. The city is not stopping at this one-time event but is currently reorganizing agricultural product packages and selling them on the online market 'Happy Market Gimcheon.'
