Gyeongnam National University, LINC+ Project Group 'Online Patent Camp' ... Cultivating Technology Rights Capability
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kang Woo-kwon] Gyeongnam National University announced on the 5th that the LINC+ Project Group held the '2020 Academic Year Capstone Design & Startup Online Patent Camp' over two days from the 28th to the 29th of last month.
This patent camp was organized for four teams of students enrolled in the Capstone Design course and 14 students from startup clubs to cultivate the ability to secure technology rights by directly filing invention ideas needed by industries and local communities through the major theoretical knowledge learned in their departments.
The patent camp covered practical programs such as ▲ basic education on intellectual property rights ▲ idea generation and concretization techniques ▲ patent specification writing ▲ electronic application writing practice through online real-time lectures broadcast on YouTube, phone calls, and remote guidance.
After completing the camp, a total of 19 patents were filed: 4 from the Capstone Design teams including startup club student Kim Tae-young's 'Magnetic Field Detection Bracelet' and 15 from startup clubs.

Park Eun-joo, head of the LINC+ Project Group at Gyeongnam National University, said, "Through this camp, we were able to protect students' ideas and further cultivate their ability to secure technology rights," adding, "It was even more meaningful and significant as we discovered various ideas despite the COVID-19 situation."
