20s Arrested for Assaulting Female Taxi Driver with Weapon After Complaint About Slamming Door Too Hard
[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kim Yeon-ju] A man in his 20s who assaulted a taxi driver with a weapon after complaining that the driver slammed the door shut has been apprehended by the police.
The Gumi Police Station announced on the 3rd that they have arrested and are investigating A (21) on suspicion of attempted murder.
A is accused of stabbing female driver B (57) in the abdomen with a weapon and striking her head with a hand axe while riding in a taxi on a road in Jinpyeong-dong, Gumi, around 4 a.m. that day.
A was reportedly caught in the act and arrested by police who responded to the report.
According to the police investigation, A committed the crime after raising his voice and arguing with B, claiming she slammed the taxi door shut too hard.
B was taken to the hospital after the incident and underwent emergency surgery.
