‘Jeongeup Sarang Gift Certificate’ Special Discount Period Extended Until Year-End
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Jaegil] Jeongeup City in Jeonbuk announced on the 3rd that it will extend the 10% discount period for the Jeongeup Love Gift Certificate, which was applied from April to July, until the end of December.
To prevent illegal distribution of the gift certificates, purchases cannot exceed 700,000 KRW per person per month, and purchasers can use the certificates at affiliated stores with a 10% discount, just like cash.
The city is recruiting affiliated stores year-round and lists about 3,000 affiliated stores such as restaurants, marts, beauty salons, academies, hospitals, and gas stations on the city’s website to ensure convenience for users.
Applications can be made at the City Hall’s Regional Economy Division or at the town and township community centers. (Semi-)large-scale stores, entertainment bars, and gambling establishments cannot be registered as affiliated stores.
Meanwhile, the city is preparing to issue card-type gift certificates so that not only existing users but also family members using mobile phones and elderly people who have difficulty using smartphones can use them conveniently.
A city official said, “The Jeongeup Love Gift Certificate has greatly helped increase sales in the local commercial district,” and added, “We hope that all citizens will overcome the COVID-19 crisis together through responsible consumption using the gift certificates.”
