View original image[Asia Economy (Daejeon) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] Korea Railroad Corporation (KORAIL) announced on the 2nd that President Son Byung-seok visited the Railroad Traffic Control Center to check the damage status at railroad sites caused by heavy rain and the real-time train operation situation.
In particular, President Son emphasized that after receiving reports on disruptions to train operations caused by heavy rain in the Gangwon, Chungcheong, and northern Gyeongbuk regions, efforts should be focused on minimizing customer confusion through thorough guidance and ensuring that recovery work carried out on-site is completed quickly and safely.
As of the afternoon of the same day, train operations were suspended on the entire sections of the Taebaek Line and Chungbuk Line due to heavy rain, and trains also stopped on the Yeongdong Line and Jungang Line sections.
In response, KORAIL has mobilized about 400 people, including executives and all managers of grade 2 or higher, to participate in emergency duty, holding an urgent disaster countermeasure meeting to concentrate all efforts on disaster recovery.
