According to the police on the 31st, the Seoul Eastern District Prosecutors' Office decided not to request an arrest warrant from the court for Park, which the police had applied for on charges including special injury and obstruction of official duties. It is reported that the prosecution dismissed the warrant because they deemed additional investigation necessary regarding parts of the charges that the suspect denied.
Park is accused of throwing bricks and committing acts of violence against broadcasting reporters who attempted to cover a story at his residence in Songpa-gu, Seoul, around 9 p.m. on the 23rd of last month. He is also charged with spraying a gas gun at police officers who tried to intervene. It is reported that four reporters were injured at the time.
The police plan to decide whether to reapply for the arrest warrant after further investigation.
