"Please Don't Slip Up"...Words Pouring Out at the United Party Changing Its Name
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] The United Future Party, currently undergoing a party name revision, conducted a survey to gather opinions from party members and the public. The results showed that keywords such as freedom, conservatism, people, democracy, future, hope, and Korea were frequently mentioned.
The United Future Party announced on the 31st that, following the survey conducted from the 24th to collect opinions on the party name change, 63.4% of respondents were non-members.
The survey, titled "Tell Us! Your Thoughts," saw participation from 8.9% teenagers, 21.6% in their 20s, 17.5% in their 30s, 14.9% in their 40s, 17.2% in their 50s, and 20% aged 60 and above.
In response to the question "Requirements for a party that lasts a hundred years," Shin OO, a teenager from Sejong, answered, "A party that guarantees the freedom of the people, a fair party that considers all citizens, and a just party that pursues a better life through effort." Park OO, a person in their 30s from Seoul, replied, "Before becoming a 'trend setter,' become a 'trend center.' Consider voters as century-long guests."
When asked about "What you hope for from the United Future Party," Choi OO, a person in their 20s from Gyeonggi, said, "Please engage in opposition struggles in a refined and sophisticated manner." Kim OO, in their 50s from Gyeongnam, advised, "Please refrain from verbal mistakes." Kwon OO, in their 40s from Incheon, also advised, "You need to make people in their 30s and 40s, who are politically neutral, feel favorable."
The survey results indicated that keywords to be included in the new party name were freedom, conservatism, people, democracy, future, hope, and Korea.

The United Future Party stated, "This survey result will be thoroughly analyzed and used as basic data for the party name revision," adding, "Although some responses included cynicism, criticism, and ridicule regarding our party's name change and reform, all opinions will be seriously considered during the party name revision process."
