The detected establishments included 10 operating without notification and one using medical devices for business operations.
According to the investigation, each establishment is suspected of operating without a license and without notification (5 places) or operating with a license but without notification (5 places).
They registered their business as a cosmetics retail business at the tax office, then equipped their business premises with beds, cosmetics, and other facilities, providing services such as nail care, eyelash extensions, skin care, and waxing to customers visiting the premises.
In addition to these establishments, one place is suspected of using a high-frequency stimulator on members receiving skin care, despite the fact that medical devices cannot be used for skin beauty purposes in general beauty salons.
The city has sent these establishments to the prosecution with a recommendation for indictment. Each establishment faces imprisonment of up to one year or a fine of up to 10 million won under the Public Health Control Act.
