US NASA Launches Mars Exploration Rover 'Perseverance'
[Asia Economy Reporter Jin-gyu Lee] The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) launched the Mars exploration rover (a vehicle-type mobile exploration robot) 'Perseverance' at 7:50 a.m. Eastern Time on the 30th from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida.
Perseverance, tasked with searching for microbial traces on Mars, is NASA's fifth Mars exploration rover.
Mounted on an Atlas V rocket, Perseverance will travel approximately 505 million kilometers and is scheduled to land on February 18 next year at the 'Jezero Crater,' believed to be an ancient delta.

There, Perseverance will analyze the Martian surface, terrain, atmospheric components, and carry out the mission of bringing soil samples back to Earth. Through this, it plans to search for traces of ancient life on Mars.
