The meeting was attended by Jeong Jong-sun, Governor of Jangheung-gun, Amazon representatives, export officials from Jeollanam-do Provincial Office, and local companies.
The export expansion discussions were promoted by inviting local buyers from the United States to Jangheung-gun to enhance the export of local agricultural specialties and strengthen company capabilities, in connection with the establishment of a Jeollanam-do brand pavilion within the Amazon shopping mall and marketing support projects.
Currently, Amazon sells products such as Cheonggukjang and Doenjang from Jangheung Food (CEO Cheon Jeong-ja), which first entered the market from Jangheung-gun last year, and sales have been steadily increasing.
Jangheung-gun expects that this export expansion discussion will provide opportunities for local agricultural specialties to be distributed to consumers worldwide, including the United States.
