Homeplus Launches Campaign to Support Domestic Farms... Fresh Produce Up to 40% Off
[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] Homeplus, in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs and the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, will hold a large-scale discount event to promote the consumption of domestically produced agricultural, livestock, and marine products at nationwide hypermarkets, Express stores, and online malls from the 30th to August 8th.
During this period, Homeplus will offer up to 40% discounts on all 1,200 varieties of domestic fresh food products and provide additional discount benefits of up to 10,000 KRW on agricultural and livestock products through discount coupons, aiming to activate the consumption of domestic fresh food, support farm growth, and stabilize grocery prices.
First, Homeplus will launch the "Let's Go for Korea's Agricultural Discounts" campaign together with the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs. Until August 8th, they will sell about 240 types of domestic livestock products, 120 types of fruits, 460 types of vegetables, and 360 types of dried foods at up to 40% off. All MyHomeplus members will receive two discount coupons: one 5,000 KRW coupon for agricultural products (fruits, vegetables, dried foods) and one 5,000 KRW coupon for livestock products (meat, eggs). The discount coupons can be used until August 8th when purchasing at least 25,000 KRW each of domestic agricultural and livestock products.
As a representative livestock item, Homeplus has pre-planned about 150 tons of domestic pork to offer at affordable prices. Pork Ilpum Pork Samgyeopsal (pork belly, 100g) is sold at 1,990 KRW, and pork neck (100g) at 2,090 KRW. For MyHomeplus members, domestic brand samgyeopsal and pork neck are offered at a 20% discount. If you purchase 1.3 kg of Ilpum Pork Samgyeopsal (25,870 KRW), you can use the 5,000 KRW livestock discount coupon to effectively pay about 1,600 KRW per 100g.
Seasonal summer fruits and vegetables are also offered at low prices. Geobong grapes (1.5 kg, box) and GAP Hetsare peaches (6-10 pieces, box) are each priced at 15,990 KRW, with an additional 5,000 KRW discount when purchasing two boxes, making each 13,490 KRW. Forty-one types of eco-friendly vegetables are 20% off when buying two, and Goesan Daehak Chal Corn (per piece) is 690 KRW. Organic Matari mushrooms (350g, pack) are sold as buy one get one free. Popular dried food items such as Nonghyup Premium Yecheon Ilpum Rice (10kg, bag) are priced at 25,900 KRW, and Premium Koshihikari (10kg, bag) is 34,900 KRW when purchased with event cards.
In cooperation with the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, Homeplus has prepared a consumption promotion event offering 20% discounts to MyHomeplus members on sashimi, grilled fish, and soups, which see increased demand during the vacation season. They have secured about 20 tons of stock, selling mixed rockfish sashimi (flatfish/rockfish, 150g each) at 19,120 KRW, live sea bream sashimi (300g, pack) at 19,120 KRW, and three live Tongyeong rockfish (medium size) at 8,720 KRW.
