[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hong Jae-hee] A ship fire, presumed to be caused by an electrical short circuit, occurred at Yangji Port on Gyewha-do, Buan-gun, Jeonbuk, and was extinguished in about 20 minutes.
According to Buan Fire Station on the 30th, a fire broke out on a 3.9-ton fishing boat docked at Yangji Port at around 7:16 PM the previous day and was completely extinguished by 7:43 PM.
The fire caused damage to the ship's engine room and other areas, resulting in an estimated property damage of 1.92 million won according to the fire station, with no reported casualties.
Buan Fire Station reported that it was raining at the time of the fire, and a large amount of electrical melting traces were found in the engine room, leading to the conclusion that the fire was caused by an unidentified short circuit inside the engine room.
