Ministry of Employment: "Get Free Remote Work Consulting"... Incentives for Excellent Workplaces
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bo-kyung] The Ministry of Employment and Labor is recruiting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and mid-sized companies to participate in the "Comprehensive Telecommuting Consulting" program for the second half of this year from the 29th until next month 18th.
The comprehensive telecommuting consulting program is being implemented for the first time this year to support the establishment of telecommuting systems in the field following the COVID-19 pandemic.
Professional consultants will visit companies directly to provide consulting on all necessary elements for the introduction and implementation of telecommuting systems, including human resources and labor management and information technology (IT), with no cost burden on participating companies.
The specific consulting support includes ▲reviewing the scope and operation methods of telecommuting introduction ▲selecting suitable job positions ▲advising on IT solution construction and utilization plans ▲consulting on legal issues arising from system implementation ▲and organizational culture improvement training.
Additionally, guidance will be provided to help SMEs and mid-sized business owners receive support such as indirect labor costs for flexible work systems, telecommuting and remote work infrastructure construction costs, and the non-face-to-face service voucher project (Ministry of SMEs and Startups) supporting 160,000 SMEs until next year.
Participating companies that grow into leading models of telecommuting through the consulting will receive benefits such as certification as excellent companies through the Work Innovation Incentive System, exemption from regular labor inspections for three years, support for work innovation infrastructure construction costs (up to 20 million KRW), and preferential treatment in various government support projects.
The comprehensive telecommuting consulting program provides customized services for each company over a total of 9 weeks, divided into stages: company diagnosis (weeks 1-2), support for systematizing telecommuting (weeks 3-4), pilot operation of telecommuting (weeks 5-8), and follow-up management (week 9). Along with human resources and labor management experts, IT solution experts will be assigned one-on-one to each participating company.
The Ministry of Employment and Labor plans to revamp the Work-Life Balance website (www.worklife.kr) in August to enable experts to provide online consultations on telecommuting introduction and implementation inquiries at any time.
