Samsung Display Union Activities Recognized, Labor-Management Relations Accelerate Rapidly
[Asia Economy Reporter Changhwan Lee] Samsung Display is reported to have conveyed to the Samsung Display Labor Union, affiliated with the Korean Metal Workers' Union Federation, that it will "recognize legitimate union activities within the company."
According to related industry sources on the 28th, Samsung Display labor and management reached a temporary agreement on this matter the day before. Under the temporary agreement, the company will provide a union office and appoint full-time union officials, including the union chairman.
The union chairman is scheduled to begin activities from the 3rd of next month and start preparing for collective bargaining. Specific details such as the schedule for collective bargaining and the location and size of the office will be finalized later.
