Gochang-gun Homepage Obtains Web Accessibility Quality Certification
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Jae-gil] Gochang-gun, Jeonbuk announced on the 28th that it has obtained the ‘Web Accessibility Quality Certification Mark’ for the first time as a representative homepage from the Korea Web Accessibility Certification Evaluation Institute designated by the Ministry of Science and ICT.
The Web Accessibility Quality Certification is a system that awards certification marks to excellent sites that comply with web accessibility standard guidelines to ensure that information-vulnerable groups such as people with disabilities and the elderly do not experience inconvenience when using websites.
Since last year, Gochang-gun has continuously made efforts such as revamping its responsive homepage reflecting both web and mobile environments so that anyone can use it easily and conveniently, establishing an integrated search service that allows all information to be searched at a glance, and removing plugins.
In particular, in this evaluation, the Gochang-gun homepage achieved a comprehensive compliance rate of 100% (passing score is 95% or higher) in expert assessments of 24 inspection items, including providing appropriate alternative text.
Also, it received a passing score by achieving a 100% compliance rate for all types of disabilities, including visual and brain lesion disabilities, through user evaluations directly involving persons with disabilities.
