[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyesook] The urban development project for Yonghyeon-Hakik 1 Block in Incheon is set to accelerate.
OCI's subsidiary DCRE announced on the 28th that it has named Yonghyeon-Hakik 1 Block in Michuhol-gu, Incheon as "City Ociel" and will begin the first sales this year.
DCRE plans to start selling 1,131 households in Block 1-1 this September and develop a total of 13,149 households across the entire block by 2025, with sales proceeding sequentially. Construction will involve HDC Hyundai Development Company, Hyundai Engineering & Construction, and POSCO Engineering & Construction, creating brand apartments such as I-Park and Hillstate.
There will also be a park (330,000㎡) equipped with five kindergartens, elementary, middle, and high schools, as well as camping grounds, basketball courts, and tennis courts.
The Yonghyeon-Hakik 1 Block urban development project is a large-scale residential complex and urban infrastructure, business, and commercial facility development project on a 1,546,000㎡ site at 587-1 Hakik-dong, Michuhol-gu, scheduled for completion by 2025.
"City Ociel" is a compound word combining "O," symbolizing harmony and center, and the French word "Ciel," meaning sky (the highest). It expresses the origin of the Yonghyeon-Hakik place name, where the dragon and crane soar, as the sky, symbolizing a city where nature and people, city and culture harmonize under the sky, becoming the best city with convenient transportation and abundant infrastructure as a new center.
Meanwhile, the land donated by DCRE to Incheon City is being developed into "Incheon Museum Park," consisting of the Municipal Art Museum, Municipal Museum, Art Park, Content Village, and Content Plaza, with completion targeted for 2024.
DCRE expects that once City Ociel is completed, it will attract a population of about 33,000, create employment for about 60,000 people, and generate an economic ripple effect exceeding 10 trillion won.
