Seodaemun-gu Cheonyeon Chunghyun Area 'Clean Alley Making Cooperative Project' Promotion
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Seodaemun-gu (Mayor Moon Seok-jin) announced on the 28th that it will carry out the ‘Clean Alley Making Cooperative Project,’ in which various village resident groups participate to manage the alleys within the Cheonyeonchunhyeon urban regeneration activation area as pleasantly as apartment complexes.
To this end, by the end of this year, ▲ the ‘Dongnimmun-ro 12-gil Residents’ Group’ will conduct a recycling separation campaign and alley beautification on 12-gil ▲ ‘Cheonyeon Ongdalsaem’ will promote reuse and repair of goods and a youth environmental guardian challenge ▲ ‘Cheonyeon Saem Residents Network’ will work on beautifying the alleys of Dongnimmun-ro 3-gil.
Also, ▲ ‘Cheonyeonchunhyeon Village Cooperative’ will operate a temporary recycling station and improve alley environments ▲ ‘Cheonyeonchunhyeon Urban Regeneration Residents’ Council Alley Walking Subcommittee’ will carry out recycling activities within the village and daily life ▲ Cheonyeon-dong Residents’ Autonomy Committee Living Environment Subcommittee will conduct a recycling goods exchange campaign respectively.
This project will begin with a lecture by Hong Soo-yeol, director of the Resource Circulation Social Economy Research Institute, at 7 p.m. on the 30th of this month at the Cheonyeonchunhyeon Urban Regeneration Hub Space ‘Golmoktong’ (Dongnimmun-ro 8-gil 3).
On this day, Director Hong will share empathy with attendees regarding the necessity of recycling for village environmental improvement and the role of residents.
Following this, to ensure smooth progress of the cooperative project, ▲ a special lecture on ‘Changes in Cheonyeon-dong Village’ by Park In-kwon, representative of the Cheonyeonchunhyeon Urban Regeneration Residents’ Council (8/25) ▲ a residents’ meeting related to waste disposal (9/22) ▲ a talk on environmental issues and a T-shirt performance by Professor Emeritus Yoon Ho-seop of Kookmin University (10/20) ▲ education on ‘Recycling Methods in Daily Life’ by the Youth Team of the Earth Citizens’ Movement Federation (11/10, 11/17) will follow. In addition, guidance on ‘Clean Alley Making’ will be provided online.
Moon Seok-jin, Mayor of Seodaemun-gu, stated, “We look forward to active participation from nearby residents in various activities and educational programs aimed at improving the village environment.”
