Lee Jae-myung: "All public officials of grade 4 or higher at the provincial office must dispose of all housing except their actual residence" (Breaking News)
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Lee Jae-myung, Governor of Gyeonggi Province, strongly urged public officials of grade 4 or higher in Gyeonggi Province and executives of public institutions who own multiple houses to dispose of all non-primary residences by the end of this year.
This measure to require high-ranking officials to dispose of multiple homes is the first among local governments in Korea. It is stronger than the government’s proposal, which only recommended it for officials of grade 2 or higher. Governor Lee plans to reflect the housing ownership status of high-ranking officials in personnel evaluations starting next year.
