Ulsan's 'Startup Mister Trot' Audition to Be Held
'2020 U-STAR Best Ground' to Ignite Startup Fever
Recruiting Participating Companies Until August 14 ... Final Selection of 3 Teams
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] A representative startup audition program in Ulsan, reminiscent of ‘Mr. Trot,’ is underway.
Ulsan City announced on the 28th that it is recruiting participating companies for ‘2020 U-STAR Best Ground,’ Ulsan’s representative startup company audition program, until August 14.
First held last year, ‘U-STAR Best Ground’ aims to discover and nurture startup companies and was conducted with intense interest from entrepreneurs, with a competition rate of 18 to 1.
To continue last year’s momentum, Ulsan City will hold the event again this year and plans to broadcast the audition process through YouTube.
Companies wishing to participate can apply on the U-STAR website by August 14, and preliminary entrepreneurs (teams) and startups (teams) less than three years old can participate regardless of region.
The event will be conducted as a capacity-building program for discovering and nurturing startups and as a startup competition in the form of an audition.
A total of 10 teams will be selected through preliminary (document) and final evaluations in August. Five teams selected through the mission evaluation semi-final will receive customized intensive counseling and IR pitching training.
The final round championship will be held on September 26. The three teams selected in the final will receive a total prize of 9 million KRW: 5 million KRW for the grand prize (1 team), 3 million KRW for the excellence award (1 team), and 1 million KRW for the encouragement award (1 team).
The winning teams can also receive various linked support through the Ulsan Center for Creative Economy and Innovation.
An official from Ulsan City said, “We hope that the ‘U-STAR Best Ground,’ now in its second year, will firmly establish itself as Ulsan’s representative startup audition and spread the local startup enthusiasm.”
