Sangju City Launches Online 'Passport Reissue' Application Service... First Pilot Operation in Gyeongbuk
Selected as a Pilot Institution for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' Government Innovation Flagship Project
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Dong-wook] Sangju City in Gyeongbuk announced that it has been selected as a pilot institution for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' government innovation flagship project, the 'Online Passport Reissuance Application Service,' and will accept online passport reissuance applications starting from the 28th.
The 'Online Passport Reissuance Service' is a procedure where a civil petitioner who has been issued an electronic passport at least once logs into the 'Government24' website using their public authentication certificate and uploads a passport photo to apply.
Before the full launch of the online reissuance service at the end of this year, Sangju City explained that by piloting the online passport reissuance service, local residents will be able to obtain passports more conveniently.
Sangju City is the only local government in Gyeongbuk to pilot this service. Residents of nearby local governments around Sangju can also use this service. However, applicants must visit the designated institution in person to collect their passports.
