KEPCO KDN, Partial Performance Bonuses Paid in Local Gift Certificates
[Asia Economy Reporter Kwangho Lee] KEPCO KDN announced on the 28th that it will support local small business owners struggling due to the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) by first paying part of the management evaluation performance bonuses of executive staff in the form of Onnuri gift certificates and local love gift certificates.
The amount for purchasing gift certificates is about 600,000 KRW per person and is expected to be paid in August. Additionally, through an agreement with the labor union, the plan is to expand the payment of gift certificates to include part of the performance bonuses for general employees.
The gift certificates to be given to KEPCO KDN employees amount to approximately 1 billion KRW, which is expected to help overcome the deepening local economic recession caused by the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic and to stimulate consumption during the summer vacation period, thereby contributing to the revitalization of the local commercial district.
Meanwhile, executives and senior managers, including President Park Seongcheol, have been donating part of their monthly salaries since April for one year to small business owners and socially marginalized groups facing difficulties due to COVID-19.
