SK Limup - Korea Forest Service to Promote Overseas Afforestation Projects for Greenhouse Gas Reduction
[Asia Economy Reporter Park So-yeon] SK Forestry and the Korea Forest Service are joining forces to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
SK Forestry announced on the 28th that it signed a business agreement with the Korea Forest Service to discover and implement overseas forest projects aimed at achieving greenhouse gas reduction targets.
Greenhouse gas reduction through forest utilization is also stipulated in the new climate regime, which has mandated greenhouse gas reductions for all countries since January 2021. Developing countries preserve sustainable forests with financial and technical support from developed countries, while developed countries receive certification for the amount of carbon dioxide emissions reduced through forest conservation activities.
