Samsung Electronics to Start Supplying TVs for Hearing and Visually Impaired Users from This Week

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Changhwan Lee] Samsung Electronics announced on the 28th that it was selected as the supplier for the '2020 TV Distribution Project for the Hearing and Visually Impaired' by the Korea Communications Commission in May and has started full-scale supply from this week.
According to the project plan, the Viewer Media Foundation selects priority recipients considering income level and degree of disability, and Samsung Electronics will supply 15,000 TVs for the hearing and visually impaired by the end of this year.
The selected TV this time is a 40-inch Full HD Smart TV equipped with significantly enhanced accessibility features compared to previous models.
Hyunseo Yoo, Lifelong Education Team Leader at Siloam Welfare Center for the Visually Impaired located in Gwanak-gu, Seoul, who tested the actual product, said, "The content accessed through radio and the content accessed through TV are distinctly different," adding, "I have come to enjoy watching through the Samsung TV with enhanced accessibility features."
Samsung Electronics' Visual Display Business Division explained that the Product Strategy Team has personnel specializing in accessibility features for people with disabilities and is striving to enhance the social value of technology.
