On the 28th, LH announced the selection of the winning designs from the playground design competition held to develop the newlywed couples' Hope Town into a specialized complex with an optimal childcare environment. This competition was organized to develop a new playground model under the theme of "a playground where children can safely and freely play 365 days a year regardless of the weather," a theme LH has applied to playgrounds in the newlywed couples' Hope Town since 2018.
Through last month's competition, LH established plans to create three types of themed playgrounds?forest playground, moist playground, and rain-friendly playground?targeting two districts, A and B, in the Gyeonggi newlywed couples' Hope Town, where landscaping design is scheduled for the second half of this year. As a result, winning designs were selected that reflect children's perspectives while exhibiting excellent design and functionality.
The first theme, the 'forest playground,' is an eco-friendly playground with forests and trees. The winning design proposed a garden with pine cones abundantly hanging in District A, and a play space inspired by the fairy tale "Jack and the Beanstalk" in District B.
The 'moist playground, enjoyable even when wet,' is themed as a cool playground that washes away the midsummer heat. In Districts A and B, storytelling spaces were created where children can play with small forest caterpillars and beavers, themed respectively on a small forest of insects and a beaver's dam.

This allows for colorful shadow play on sunny days and shaded outdoor play and learning on cloudy days.
Meanwhile, the winning design in the 'Way to School' facilities category, held alongside the themed playground competition, was praised for implementing a school route that resonates with multiple generations by incorporating diverse and interesting sculptural elements inspired by the children's song "Umbrella."
